This is a beautiful park with most sites on the water. The sites are separated nicely from each other. There is a swimming beach in the camping area and a resort area with restaurant and boat and pontoon rentals "next door". Our $9.00 rate reflects the 1/2 price rate for golden age passport holders and is for the water and electric sites. For just electric the fee is less. There are no laundry facilities but two shower houses.
This is a beautiful park on the Arkansas River. The road was paved and the sites were on concrete pads bordered by a large area for the picnic table. The sites were large and well spaced with lush green grass around them. Our satellite is fixed to the roof and we had no trouble finding a signal. The rate was the 1/2 price rate for Golden Age Passport holders.
We camped in the old park. The newer section rates ranged from $28 to $40. There was a dry camping section also available to $17. Good Sam was accepted only in the newer section. The park is within walking distance of the aquarium, which is a must see in Newport. A free shuttle that takes you into Newport stops here and runs throughout the day.
This is a Passport America Park that accepts the PA rate all of the time. We stayed 4 nights at the PA rate. I expect the regular rate was about $30. The park was clean. The hosts were friendly and helpful in assuring that we had a site that would give us satellite access.
